"La Casa Museo del Campesino" (The Farmhouse   Museum) lies almost in the geographical centre of the island. Its doors first opened to the public in 1978. The dazzling white walls, the green painted doors and windows and the airy chimneys of remarkable oriental reminiscence epitomize Lanzarote's genuine rural architectural style.     "Los Jameos del Agua" is a section of an over 6 kilometres long volcanic tunnel that originated within the extensive lava flows which covered the north-eastern part of the island during the spectacular eruption of the "La Corona" volcano some thousands of years ago.     Teguise Market La Villa de Teguise is one of the main cultural and tourist centres on the island. One of its most popular events is the Mercadillo. Every Sunday morning, the entire village turns into a grand open air market where shoppers can browse among the stalls of wares from artifacts to home made bread, all animated by groups of folk dancers and singers in native costume.
